Apart from the Medical Faculty of Charles University, the city also hosts another independent university founded in 2000 under its current name with 5 faculties (pedagogy, computer science, company management, philosophy, natural sciences and social work). Obviously, the Medical Faculty of Charles University plays a very important role in the university life of Hradec Kralove, since each year many first semester students start their studies at this university.

Language: The official language is Czech, although you can communicate perfectly in English as most young people can speak it very well. The university offers lectures, seminars and courses completely in English; however, you will also need to attend a couple of Czech courses because you will need to have basic skills of this language to communicate with patients during the clinical part of the studies.

Transport:

The European routes E67 and E442 cross the city. The first of them is known as Via Baltica and, among other cities, it goes via Helsinki, Warsaw, Klodzko, Hradec Kralove and Prague. Although the city does not have an airport, you can take a train from its train station to the main cities. Prague is just one hour and a half away by car and Olomouc two hours away.
