Faculty of Physiotherapy
The internationally recognized degree in physiotherapy is taught in English and it is open for international students from every country. The duration of the studies is three years and in the end, the students receive a bachelor degree in physiotherapy, which is recognized in the EU and in most of the rest of countries.
The bachelor studies in physiotherapy comprise both theoretical and practical components, shaped as an integrated whole. It offers the students a complex series of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which prepare them for professional autonomy well and provide excellent services in the clinical praxis. In order to achieve this target, the students are offered solid scientific knowledge, combined with an impressive repertoire of physiotherapeutic skills. The program is focused on the development of critical thinking skills. In addition to this, the degree facilitates the development of the present communicative skills and transmits the most important professional values.
Apart from the core competences and knowledge in the central subjects of clinical science related to the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, respiratory tract and neuromuscular system, the study program covers necessary knowledge in the fields of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry and biophysics as a foundation for the understanding of medical rehabilitation and kinesiology. In addition, the students acquire a basic knowledge of psychology, psychiatry, epidemiology, ethics and the Czech language. The special profile of the study program is characterized by investigation methods in the individual branches of clinical medicine (e.g. inner medicine, surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, pediatrics, gynecology, neurology and neurophysiology), physical therapy, movement therapy and its special techniques, ergotherapy and prosthetics.
