Cooperation of the First Faculty of Medicine and the Klinikum Chemnitz

As a student of the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague, you have the chance to complete practical periods of your degree in Chemnitz (Germany), in addition to your study experience in Prague. Since 2004, the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague and the Klinikum Chemnitz have had a cooperation agreement for the international degree in Medicine.

The existing model for international cooperation between the Charles University in Prague and the Klinikum in Chemnitz enables German-speaking students to complete the preclinical part of their education in Prague and a part of the subsequent clinical training in the Klinikum Chemnitz, starting from the 4th year. Generally, German-speaking students can study for 12 weeks annually in Chemnitz, starting from their 4th year.

The Klinikum in Chemnitz has a capacity of 1775 beds in three different places in Chemnitz and Schneeberg, which makes it the biggest hospital administered locally in Eastern Germany.
