Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Latvia University of Agriculture

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies is the only faculty in Latvia, which offers an education that finishes with the qualification that you need in order to practice as a veterinarian.

A training and research farm is part of the university, and therefore also of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The farm is home to many different animals, but mainly cattle. Here you can apply the theoretically learned knowledge, while working with the animals. You will also learn a lot of new things there, e.g. everything related to cattle breeding. Of course, the treatment and research on the cattle has the highest priority. Beyond that, the university operates three institutes and a veterinary animal clinic, the „Veterinary Medicine Education Center“. Here the students can conduct research and work with animals.

The main goal of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies is to educate international students for the job of a veterinarian in the best possible way.

After the completion of the degree, they can open their own doctor’s office or work in clinics or institutes, which work in the fields of veterinary medicine. Of course, the students can also do research activities. This is especially interesting for many alumni, since they will also get into contact with research during studies, where they will be supported and promoted with it.
