University Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg

UMCH is an accredited branch of the Romanian State University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures in Hamburg. At the campus in Hamburg will be able to study human medicine in English.

The Romanian university is situated in Targu Mures, in the region of Transylvania. Medical students have been successfully educated here for over 70 years. A total of 11.000 students learn at the university. It is the largest and most renowned medical university in Romania. The university maintains more than 150 international co-operations and has a network of 49 partner universities.

At UMCH in Hamburg you will study at one of the most modern university locations in Europe. Only in 2018 was it completely re-equipped. In all classes an excellent relationship between teachers and students exists – both in the lectures and in the practical part. Thus, there is close contact, whereby the students receive systematic and individual support. Due to the university’s international connections, students will be able to participate in groundbreaking medical conferences and congresses and gain insights into the latest medical developments.

The first two years of your studies will be spent mainly on campus in Hamburg. After the second year you can decide: Either you complete the third to sixth academic year on campus in Hamburg and in partner hospitals and clinics throughout Germany, or you complete this section of your studies in Targu Mures.

The campus in Hamburg offers teaches in English. The practical part takes place in UMCH’s German partner hospitals in German. If you decide to go to Targu Mures for years 3 to 6, you will continue your studies in English.
