Values, Vision and Mission

Basis of the academic education at UMCH is the creation and the transfer of knowledge. A very high priority is attached to the education of future doctors. The university pursues a holistic and interdisciplinary approach: Teaching at the Medical Campus in Hamburg is highly patient- and practice-oriented. At the same time, however, there is also a focus on science and research.

In addition to imparting knowledge, the focus is also on individual personality development. As part of their studies, students should not only acquire specialist medical knowledge but also learn to critically deal with questions and problems. To acquire knowledge independently and on one’s own responsibility is also a skill that the university intends to pass on to its students so that they can profit from it in their professional careers.

In addition, it is an important concern of the university to convey scientific as well as ethical, cultural and social values in relation to medical and pharmaceutical topics. UMCH is also committed to the continuous promotion of innovation in these fields and to the internationalization of research.
