Last Saturday, 31.08.2019, a big Open Campus Day took place at the University Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg. From the winter semester 2019/20 onwards students will be able to study medicine at UMCH without a waiting period or a 1.0 A-levels. We exclusively accompanied our partner university to present you the most important impressions of the day.
On an exceptionally sunny day, around 300 visitors visited the campus in Hamburg. Over there they had the opportunity to attend various lectures. In addition to a general presentation of the medical studies at UMCH, interested visitors were also informed about the 3-week Pre-Medical Course which is currently taking place in Hamburg. Additionally, lectures about one of the cooperating teaching hospitals – the Protestant Hospital Mettmann – were held. A Q&A session took place as well so that all individual questions were answered.
During campus tours, which were offered all day, future students got an impression of the ultramodern premises of their new study place. The day’s highlight, however, was the presentation of UMCH’s virtual anatomy dissection table, which also took place throughout the entire day. The cutting-edge technology which awaits the international students at UMCH left all attendees in awe. The crowd was correspondingly large.
All in all, UMCH’s Open Campus Day was a complete success. The response from both the visitors as well as the university’s staff was consistently positive so that all participants look forward to seeing each other again soon!
