Your Accommodation in New York

MSA (Medical Studies Advisory) can find you a safe, cosy place while you are taking part in one of our courses. All of our student dorms and host family houses are in safe, central areas of New York. Here you will live with other participants from all over the world, who would also like to improve their English. In case you decide to stay with a host family, you will have plenty of opportunities to practise your English by interacting with an American family.

The costs range from USD 1,000 to 1,800 per month. The price differences depend on whether you choose a single or a double room, the location and the season. In certain accommodation types, meals are included.

We offer accommodation in student dorms, as well as in host families.

QUEENS – Flushing YMCA

At Flushing YMCA there are 127 available rooms for both sexes, single or double rooms in Queens. The rooms are cleaned daily. There is air conditioning and television. This dorm is in a central location, and has extremely good transport connections. Flushing YMCA has two swimming pools, a fitness studio, a gym, squash court, sauna and steam bath. The facilities are guarded round the clock.

Flushing YMCA is 30 minutes away from our school in Queens and 50 minutes away from our school in Manhattan.

MANHATTAN – West Side YMCA

Located directly in Central Park and only a few steps away from the Lincoln Center, the West Side YMCA offers not only a room, but a real home to more than 40,000 guests from the USA and from the whole world. Guests will find here two swimming pools, two aerobic studios, 100 fitness courses, steam baths and saunas, basketball, a squash and a handball court, as well as gym devices to train resistance and strength.

Thanks to its perfect location, they can have a fitness studio with an area over 6,000 square meters, the beauty of Central Park, the energising atmosphere of Times Square and worldwide renowned cultural facilities, among others, Carnegie Hall, the Juilliard School of Music, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Modern Art.

West Side YMCA is 15 minutes away from ALCC.

Homestays/Host Families

The best way to put the knowledge you gain in the courses into practice and to widen it is to use it directly with a host family. Our host families live in areas inside and around New York. You will experience everyday life with an American family. In host families you will live in individual rooms with a bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a desk. You can choose to be given only breakfast, or breakfast and dinner. The host families are situated between 20 and 50 minutes away from ALCC.
